Bena Kallick, Arthur L. Costa’s 16 Habits of Mind, has inspired a great site crafted by Nigel Coutts. HOM

The site describes the Habits of Mind and  presents films which model the attitudes and behaviours

Why not get your students to create their own. I must say the model for Persistence made me smile: Karate Kid’s Wax on Wax off video. Guess how old I am???

Use the film to get students to describe how they recognise  the qualities. It could could really get them thinking  about them before they reflect about themselves. Check out http://www.rediquest.com/

The activity can be done without breaching copyright law by embedding the videos and images. (No copy is being made) Students could also create their own images which they could use. They could also select their own Creative Commons licence. Another way to teach about digital copyright.
