Global Columnists are Educators who are using Global Teacher, Edublogs or WordPress as a platform to share their ITC expertise and demonstrate how Web 2.0 technology can be applied in the classroom. These educators are members  of the Global Teacher community and have accepted the opportunity to post directly on to the Global Teacher site in order to share material.

Meet two of these columnists!

Anne Mirtschin, is a teacher in a small P-12 rural school, Hawkesdale P12 College, in the Western District of country Victoria, in south eastern Australian. She teaches Information Technology to grades 2 -12 and accounting. Web 2.0 has become  a passion of hers and she has loved the journey.

Maryna Badenhorst is a teaching and learning coach, who loves her works.  She says that she is fortunate enough to go into other teachers’ classrooms, and work with gifted people from all sectors of education.  She loves the use of technology in classrooms, but remains concerned about the many schools that want teachers to integrate technology only for the sake of integrating technology.  She believes we should really focus on improving student outcomes in our decisions about the best ways to teach, and to prepare them for the world they may face when they leave school.

You too could become a Global Teacher Columnist. Make sure to talk to Heather Blakey at global.teacher dot edumail.vic.gov.au
