Better Blogging – Leopold PS
In 2008 when Leopold PS initially used blogs, it was to connect with the immediate school community. Now, in 2011 their blogging has developed to include a large global audience who have daily interactions with other blogging classes across the world. One major initiative for last year’s Grade 2 students was the Ugandan Global Project. Through this project’s use of technology, six classes around the world used blogging to learn about each other, develop a social conscience, and raise $20,000 for a Ugandan school.
Attend this presentation to be introduced to the benefits of blogging by the experts. You will learn how to get started with blogging, how to incorporate blogging (and internet safety) into your curriculum, how to use blogging to flatten classroom walls, and how to build global connections and projects. You will see in practice, some of the web 2.0 tools that can be incorporated into blogging and learn tips and tricks for building better blogs. Another highlight of the presentation will be an introduction to the Ugandan Global Project devised in Term Four, 2010 http://ugandanglobalproject.blogspot.com
