Help And Support
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development DEECD has their own version of  Edublogs called  Global2  It is a department managed version of Edublogs, separate as a community and is managed by the DEECD Digital Learning Team. If something concerns you email
Help  and support around the technology is provided by Edublogs at the
DEECD has some essential requirements around the way we care and share with our young people and students online in this and all virtual communities. The DEECD Policy on all safe and responsible use lives in the Learning On line website  Information and template to get parental permissions
Posting and sharing information online about a person other than yourself online or in any other way requires consent. Consent must be fully informed, freely given, current and specific in how the information will be presented and to whom it will be presented. Schools will require signed authority for any work, images or information posted online. School should understand that while consent can be freely given, it can also be withdrawn at any time. The school would then be required to remove the content/resource immediately.
We recommend that you show parents Global2, make it clear that this is visible on the Internet but also that you are doing this to teach your students how to work safely and responsibly online.
Supervision
Supervision is critical. Here are the Guild lines for both online and offline supervision.  http://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/health/pages/lolteachduty.aspx
To support supervision we advise all teachers to be co- administrators of every students blog. This allows you to access from inside your own blog all of the front and back ends of your students blogs and remove content or close accounts as required. Â It is also recommended that students are allowed to be administrators too, as much of the functionality allowing students to design and or personalise their blog disappears without it. As co-administrators teachers can work shoulder to shoulder together to create positive and and responsible contributions to the blogging world.
Access
Functionally every blogger needs an email address. It is how they are identified in the space and get access to their blog. anyone with an email address that ends with vic.gov.au and vic.edu.au will have automatic access. Others can you email us at  epotential@edumail.vic.gov.au
For government schools their school Edustar Internet service (iinet previously Netspace) is already paid for and accounts can be uploaded in bulk at the school.  Once they have an email address you can bulk upload them to Global2.
Remember you have to work to make any blog collaborative by setting challenges and or asking for opinions to be posted through your comments. But sharing out to the web and learning how to do that respectfully and responsibly is a pretty good start. Happy blogging Sandy  :-)
iPad and Android tablet use
The Edublogs app is designed to be used with Edublogs and Edublogs Campus blogs.
All you need to do to use it with a Global 2 blog is:
- Download the Edublogs app – https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/edublogs/id526466328?mt=8
- Launch the Edublogs app and click on Add Edublogs Campus site – http://help.edublogs.org/2012/12/05/blogging-using-an-ios-device/
- Add your blog URL, username, password and tap Save.
You’ll find our comprehensive support documentation here – http://help.edublogs.org/ios/ You can also access this Help Guide directly inside the Edublogs app.
The WordPress for Android App also works really well with Global2.

Hello Global Teacher,
As well as commenting on children’s blogs around the world, including 4KM and 4Kj listed in your Collaborative Classrooms, I am a member of a group know as Team 100WC. Team 100WC was set up to comment on children’s entries from around the world to a UK based writing challenge. Refer to…
http://100wc.net/
This year, partly through my encouragement as well as by others, Australian schools are starting to take part. Each Team 100WC member is assigned a group of entries on which to comment. On checking some entries listed as St. Therese P S, I found I had to be a member of Glogal 2. While I am a member of Edublogs and a number of other groups so as to leave comments, I found myself unable to register for Global 2. My yahoo email was rejected because of spam problem with it while my ordinary email address was said to be unusable by Global 2.
Is there a way to register with Global 2 so I can leave comments?
If you need a reference as to whether I am an appropriate person, please contact the teachers of 4KM and 4KJ. You’ll find they and their Quadblogging buddies have come to know me quite well.

Dear Ross
Great to hear from you and thank you for your interest in Global2.
Global2 has been set up for teachers with a current edumail.vic.gov.au email address as Global2 is the Victorian chapter of edublogs. It is unfortunate that we cannot approve you as a member however, we wish you well with the work that you are doing with the Team 100WC.
kind regards

Hi Ross and Joedy,
Belated congrats to you, Joedy, on being our new Global2 person!
I just noticed this comment and I’d love to provide a reference for Ross so he can receive a Global2 account if I can. He has been a tireless supporter of our class and student blogs for a year now. He is also a well respected member of the international blogging community. The amount of time he dedicates to supporting students and teachers is incredible!
Although Ross is retired, so not an official member of our teaching system, I’d love to see an exception made!
Happy to talk to you more about Ross’s work if appropriate.
Thanks,
Kathleen Morris

Dear Joedy,
I am waiting on a reply from Global Teacher about domain mapping between our new global2 edublog and our old school website address.
I’m wondering if this is something you can help me with? I have looked at the guides on edublogs, but can’t seem to find the tool they refer to on our dashboard.
Many thanks

Dear Kathleen
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your support for Ross to be a G2 account holder however this would be in breech of the licencing agreement as he is not a currently registered teacher. I hope that you can understand.
Kind regards

There doesn’t seem to be any getting started notes under the About tab. Am I missing a link?

2 of my students started to create a blog, entered email address etc and instead of clicking GIVE ME A SITE they clicked user name only.
So now they have a dashboard only and no profile.
Can we retrace and begin again with their email??
Thanks

Hi Joedy,
Can you help?
We have sarted to think about classes for next year, the students whose blogs I manage, as they are in my class, will have a different teacher next year. How do I ‘transfer’ those blogs to the dasboard of their new teacher?

Hi Kylie
You can do a bulk management move via the dashboard. You can add a teacher, move and delete student blogs.
Check out the instructions at: Add new teacher – http://help.edublogs.org/2011/09/06/bulk-adding-a-user-to-multiple-blogs/

Hi,
I left a comment yesterday, but it seems to have disappeared. I have accidentally changed the level of access I have to my classroom blog. I was the administrator, but now only have subscriber access, which means I cannot update the blog. Can you offer any assistance on how to change the status back to administrator?
Thanks,
Rory

Hi Rory
Looking into your account it appears to us that you are in fact the administrator. Congratulations if you managed to resolve the issue yourself.
