Millions of educators and others around the world have participated in hundreds of professional development opportunities as part of Connected Educator Month (CEM) over the past two years. In the past, CEM was largely a US-centric event. This October, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and others will host celebrations with a full slate of locally-based events & activities.

2014 promises to be even bigger and better as this event goes mobile and global bringing diverse sessions and activities from across the globe.CEM OZ

Victoria DEECD has joined as an organising partner and throughout October 2014, Connected Educator Month #ceoz14 invites all educators to connect!

Whether you are able to host an event or participate this is a great opportunity to collaborate using a variety of tools and strategies. Events are starting to roll in and we invite you to join and build the momentum of this exciting educational project.

The local http://connectededucator.vic.edu.au/ allows you to register as a connected educator, host or join sessions and links directly into the universal calendar.

Talk to your leadership about using scheduling the CEM events across your school modelling personalized professional learning and purposeful use of technologies and collaboration tools.

The CEM events are an excellent way of gaining accreditation for the minimum 20 hours of standards referenced professional development activities required to maintain teacher registration through the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and/or an interstate equivalent. (You may not even have to get out of your “Jarmies”)

This is anywhere any time learning in action but it can only succeed with your participation.

Over the next two months Global2 will spotlight the upcoming Connected Educator Month events.
